London and Stonehenge

Katie and Justin flew out of Salt Lake City on May 25 and met up with Julie during our layover in Detroit.  From there, we flew across the Northern Atlantic to London.  After some slight delays at Heathrow, we finally made it to our hotel and met Alan and Matt.  We quickly ran over to Westminster to visit the Abbey before it closed.

After touring Westminster Abbey, we saw a little bit of Parliament and then walked up to Buckingham Palace.

After Buckingham Palace we ate some Thai food and passed out from exhaustion and jetlag.  The next morning we woke early to catch a bus out to Stonehenge.  We couldn’t get very close to the site, but it was still very impressive to see.

We arrived back in London in early afternoon and quickly took the Tube (subway) up to Kings Cross Station to buy our train tickets to Paris.  After buying our tickets, we noticed that we very close to one of the sets from Sherlock (BBC series).

We then walked down by St. Paul’s Cathedral and ate some authentic British food.  We ended our evening with a stroll along the Thames.

That’s all for London; tomorrow morning we are taking an early train to Paris and then continuing on to Caen, France.
